Vidzeme stony seashore and traditional pottery day

During this tour, you will spend a day in a natural reserve, attend a traditional Vidzeme pottery art workshop and watch possibly the most amazing sunset in your life! 

Vidzeme stony seashore is a nature reserve and the only place in the Baltic Sea where sandstone exposures can be seen on the beach. Beach itself has impressing stony seashore, with few stones higher than 2 metres. The first stop in this tour will be at the White Dune - one of the most beautiful dunes of its kind in Latvia with the great sight to the coast of the Baltic Sea. After we will head to the Big Lauču Sea Stone - a magnificent more than 2m high and about 70 ton heavy sea stone, also called “The king of the stones”. Tour visitors will be able to see a part of a nature reserve, unusually beautiful seashore landscape between Tūja and Vitrupe, picturesque Ķumrags with the lighthouse washed into the sea and Veczemju Cliffs.

Each tour visitor will be able to attend a traditional Vidzeme pottery art workshop and view a demonstration, join hands-on activities and even take a part in crafting souvenirs. At the end of the day, you will have the chance to watch the sun setting down in the sea. Those who had seen it tells that this might be the most beautiful sunset ever.

Tour starts and ends in Riga.
