Heart of Vidzeme - Sigulda and Cēsis

You will spend a day in Gauja River National Park and see the largest cave in the Baltics - Gūtmaņa Cave. If you have a spare day during your visit in Latvia, this tour is well worth attending!

Cesis is situated in the center of Vidzeme and is one of the most beautiful Latvian towns. Cobbled streets, romantic castle ruins, wooden houses and amazing parks will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. The unique feel in Cēsis and hospitality of this 800-year-old city attracts tourists all year long.

Sigulda, also called “the Switzerland of Latvia” is often recommended as the top travel destination in autumn. If you are in Sigulda during October when leaves on trees turns yellow and red, you will be stunned by the beauty and amazing autumn sights. Of course, Sigulda is worth visiting at any time of the year. Here you will enjoy unspoiled nature, scenic trails and 800-year-old castles steeped in legends. The city lies on the banks of Gauja River that was listed as one of the prettiest rivers in the Europe. In Sigulda you will see 2 castles as well as the largest cave in the Baltics - Gūtmaņa Cave.

Turaida holds a very romantic legend about the girl who sacrificed herself to protect her beloved one. Impressive Turaida Museum Reserve with the 800 years old castle provides an account of events from the 11th Century. The museum also includes a garden of sculptures dedicated to Latvian folklore.
